Fabio Ceraulo, Vertigo 2019

15 February 2019

a true story that actually happened, the tale aims to turn the spotlight on human trafficking, a crime that is still perpetrated with impunity in 2019, to the detriment of those who are poor and disadvantaged and have only one fault: being born in the wrong part of the world. Ceraulo reminds us that behind the numbers of landings, reported in the newspapers, there are first and foremost people, and that beyond good-natured rhetoric, we should try to remain human, capable of pietas and social solidarity. We must also give credit to the author for having dealt with a thorny subject without exaggerating in morbid details and for having adopted a respectful language, which denotes his sensitivity to topical issues such as violence against women.
