On Saturday, April 26, as part of the event la Via dei Librai, now in its 10th edition, the presentation of the latest publication Il trionfo della gola, la pasticceria dei monasteri di Sicilia, edited by Maria Oliveri, Il Genio editore, 2025, will be held at Villa Bonanno in Palermo.
Synopsis: Centuries-old traditions, ancient recipes and folk legends collected throughout Sicily, from city monasteries to inland villages. Maria Oliveri leads us by the hand in the rediscovery of a world that has now almost disappeared, that of the ancient women’s monasteries of Sicily, drawing itineraries that capture the reader’s attention, in a fascinating and surprising interweaving of historical-literary events and confectionery art.
