On April 1, 2019, the Volume “The Secrets of the Cloister” is presented at the Monastery of Santa Caterina in Palermo
The book The Secrets of the Cloister was born out of the intention to put in writing stories and small curiosities of the women’s monasteries of Palermo and at the same time to try to focus attention on a gastronomic wisdom that has matured over eight hundred years of convent history in Sicily, an important spiritual and material legacy that cannot be lost, but must be valued and handed down to future generations. Some brief, simple, but heartfelt testimonies have been included at the end of the volume to try to recount, through the eyes of those who were there, a multifaceted and complex world that no longer exists today.
